Govt lost 77 permanent staff

Government lost 77 permanent staff from December 18, 2012 to January 31, 2014 — but hired 110 “temporary relief employees”, according to Premier Craig Cannonier.

The details emerged in response to questions posed by Opposition Leader Marc Bean.

During the period in question, 237 established positions were vacated and 160 positions were filled by permanent appointment.
