Dream Big fundraiser to be held this weekend

A positive motivational event aimed at uplifting and encouraging participants will help 26 women to ‘Dream Big’ this weekend.

Orchid Nail Spa have given 20 tickets to female clients from the Coalition for the Protection of Children to attend the Saturday session. An additional six tickets have so far been donated by others.

‘Dream Big’ will be presented by US motivational speaker Trent Shelton. Other speakers include spa owner Gnica Brangman, who will share her “faith-bringing” spiritual message, and self-development speaker Cushi Ming, as well as Melodye Micere Van Putten, who will speak on “friendship before relationship”.

“As we all know this first starts with the mothers believing in themselves, creating a solid support system and having faith in anything they do,” Ms Brangman said. “We as women cannot be a solid foundation for our children if we are not confident in ourselves.”

She added: “I went through struggles of my own but I was able to stay focused and pushed myself. And now I’m here.”

Coalition founder Sheelagh Cooper thanked sponsors, telling The Royal Gazette: “When you’re mired in difficult times, as many of our women are, it sometimes takes someone else to take you to a new level of looking at the world. There are so many of our clients who are just looking for some inspiration, and this will be a good event for them.”

‘Dream Big’ is scheduled for 7pm to 9pm on Saturday at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

Tickets are available for $45 at Orchid Nail Spa on Par-la-Ville Road, and those interested in sponsoring can contact Ms Brangman directly at 296-8696.
