New intake begin police course training

Police training has commenced for 25 student officers.

The rookie officers, ranging in age from 21 to 47, started the training by reporting for orientation to the Police Headquarters in Prospect, Devonshire.

The 17-week course covers Bermuda law, police procedure, meditation training, safety training, first aid and courses ranging from diversity to driving.

Fifteen men, consisting of 11 Bermudians and four spouses of Bermudians, are training alongside ten women, nine of whom are Bermudian and one of which is a spouse of a Bermudian.

The course finishes on September 11 with a Passing Out Parade.
