Roads to close for karting Grand Prix

The karting Grand Prix in Hamilton this weekend will mean road closures around the city centre.

The two-day event is being staged by the Bermuda Karting Club and the Corporation of Hamilton and will feature a number of races around the city’s streets.

Motorists are advised that Front Street will be shut with no parking from the junction at Burnaby Street to Bermudiana Road on both Saturday and Sunday from 6am to 6pm.

Bermudiana Road and Par-la-Ville Road, from Church Street to Front Street, will also be closed and there will be no access to the No 1 car park or Albuoys Point.

A spokesman for the Corporation of Hamilton said: “The appropriate diversions and signage will be in place. Vehicles parked along any of the affected streets will be towed at the owner’s expense.

“The City of Hamilton wishes to apologise to road users for the inconvenience this may cause.”
