A Pembroke man has been charged with having in his possession a grinder to assist in drug use.

Niko Smith, 23, pleaded not guilty to having a black Strain Hunters grinder to be used in connection with a controlled drug.

The drug wasn’t identified in court.

Prosecutor Carrington Mahoney said the offence occurred in Pembroke on April 3.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released the defendant on $2,000 bail for trial on October 22.
