Fatal accident victim named

The motorcyclist killed on the A29 at Bury has been named as William Phillip Frederick Ruewell, of West Chiltington Lane, Billingshurst.The 20-year-old was riding a Honda VFR 800F motorcycle when he was involved in a collision around 4.30pm on Sunday (August 24).He had been travelling south when a Volvo V40 hatchback collided with him. The 69-year-old car driver from Bermuda was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed until September 1.

The motorcyclist killed after colliding with a car driven by a Bermudian in the UK has been named as William Ruewell.

Mr Ruewell, 20, died when his Honda VFR 800F crashed into a Volvo V40 hatchback on Sunday around 4:30pm.

The driver of the car, a 69-year-old Bermudian man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. His passenger, a 64-year-old Bermudian woman, suffered whiplash and a broken collar bone in the accident near the village of Bury in West Sussex.

The driver, who lives in Southampton Parish and was holidaying in the UK, has been released on unconditional bail until September 1. Yesterday Mr Ruewell’s parents, Phillip and Barbara, paid tribute to their son.

“William was our dearly loved, only son and a loving brother to Lydia and Ellie,” they said in a statement released by Sussex Police.
