The Island received a healthy dose of publicity last month from the launch of a new Bermuda perfume.

The 150-year-old fragrance, which was found on the Mary Celestia ship wreck, was launched in New York on September 23.

And the story attracted huge media attention in the US.

The launch ran on OK! TV USA which reaches around 400,000 US households on a nightly basis and has high viewer markets in New York, Boston and Atlanta.

And it also appeared on the Fox News’ website as well as CTV News.

The launch of the Mary Celestia fragrance was attended by Premier Michael Dunkley as well as Ministers Grant Gibbons and Shawn Crockwell.

Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones also joined the Bermuda Perfumery’s Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone, for the event.

The fragrance went on sale on Wednesday.
