Man denies assaulting former girlfriend

A 61-year-old man has denied assaulting his former girlfriend and telling her he would kill her.

Monte Ible, of Sandys, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court this morning to unlawfully assaulting Nouvelle DeRosa and using threatening words.

Prosecutor Susan Mulligan told the court the alleged offences happened on July 28.

Mr Ible is alleged to have told Ms DeRosa that “you’ve f***** with the wrong one this time, you will be lucky if you leave the Island this time because I will kill you”.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the case until January 22 and released Mr Ible on $2,000 bail with the condition he does not interfere with Ms DeRosa.

He will also appear for mention on January 8.
