Bermuda’s calm inspired O’Reilly

Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly

Bermuda’s laid back response to the sudden onset of Tropical Storm Fay over the weekend won the Island a commendation during US news commentator Bill O’Reilly’s “tip of the day” segment on Fox News.

“Over the weekend, I had the good fortune to be in Bermuda,” Mr O’Reilly told viewers last night, extolling the Island as “beautiful” as well as close to the East Coast.

“Until,” he added, “Tropical Storm Fay rolled around on Saturday night.”

The widely-watched commentator, known for his often conservative take, said he’d stayed at The Reefs where the lights remained on — and locals impressed him with their calm.

“It caused some excitement, but I have to say the Island just shook it off,” Mr O’Reilly said, adding as a tip: “When you travel, just about anything can happen — so stay calm, ride it out; it all adds to the experience. We had a great time in Bermuda.”

The Fox News coverage will have reached millions of viewers nationwide.
