Woolridge named new Parliamentary Registrar

Government House

The new Parliamentary Registrar has been named as Tenia Woolridge, who succeeds outgoing Registrar Randy Scott, Government House announced today.

Mr Scott took early retirement a year ago and Ms Woolridge assumed the post effective October 1.

“I am delighted that Ms Woolridge has accepted this role,” Governor George Fergusson said. “The post of Parliamentary Registrar is vital to the proper administration of a fair and just electoral system, which is the hallmark of justice and the bedrock of democracy. Ms Woolridge is highly qualified for the job’s challenges and responsibilities.”

She has worked with the office since 2006, and served as Assistant Parliamentary Registrar since 2008.

Ms Woolridge holds a Master’s degree in International Management and has represented the Bermuda Government at a number of overseas conferences.

The Progressive Labour Party issued a statement of congratulations, adding: “In her previous responsibilities we have always found Ms. Woolridge to be responsive, efficient and professional, and we are confident she will continue these attributes in her new position.”
