Fight man’s condition improves to stable

The 38-year-old male who was injured in an altercation on Union Street, in Pembroke, on Saturday has been upgraded from critical to stable condition at the Intensive Care Unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A 57-year-old Bermudian man has been arrested in connection with this matter and remains in police custody. A court appearance is expected in due course. Inquiries are continuing and any witnesses should contact Acting Detective Chief Inspector Chris Clarke on 247-1084 or 717-0526.

Elsewhere over the weekend, police officers arrested two people on suspicion of impaired driving as part of the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme.

Officers also arrested nine people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor licence checks at various liquor-licensed premises throughout the Island.
