Lawyer Bailey denies careless driving

An acting Magistrate has denied injuring a woman by driving carelessly.

Lawyer Edward Bailey, 66, pleaded not guilty this morning at Magistrates’ Court to causing grievous bodily harm to Alana Wilson by driving without due care and attention.

Mr Bailey, a former Police inspector and president of the Bermuda Cricket Board, ran unsuccessfully for the One Bermuda Alliance in Sandys South Central in the last election.

The accident happened on Middle Road in Southampton on May 6.

Mr Bailey will stand trial at Magistrates’ Court on March 2, 2015.

He was released on bail until his trial.
