A Social Inquiry Report has been ordered for a Pembroke woman who admitted to stealing a sandwich and assaulting a police officer.

Trimiea Roland, 26, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court this morning to stealing a grilled cheese sandwich from the Warwick Rubis Service Station on November 2.

The court heart that Roland refused to pay for the sandwich, worth $5.25, after an argument about the price.

Roland then left the service station, but returned shortly afterwards and took the sandwich without paying.

Police were called, and the court heard that Roland violently kicked out and struck the officer’s knee as she was being arrested.

Roland has several previous convictions for assaulting police officers.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded Roland into custody, and ordered a Social Inquiry Report. The matter was adjourned to January 30.
