MP Weeks distributes free Christmas hampers

Pembroke East Central constituents are feeling the benefits of the season of giving after receiving free Christmas hampers courtesy of their Member of Parliament, Michael Weeks.

Some 100 hampers were distributed to Constituency 16 residents as part of the Progressive Labour Party's representative in the area's ‘turkey giveaway' drive.

Mr Weeks said: “With so many people out of work, we've tried to ease the burden on our area families and seniors for a little while over the holiday season.

“I'm thankful for all of the sponsors and volunteers who have helped to make this year's ‘turkey giveaway' a success, and remain hopeful that there will be less families in need next Christmas.

“Regardless, our goal in Constituency 16 is to continue helping where we can, whenever we can, to make life better for our constituents throughout the year.”

Mr Weeks, his wife Cindylee and the PLP Constituency 16 team made the Christmas hamper deliveries to seniors and families.

This is the fourth consecutive year that they have delivered them during the holiday season.
