A 19-year-old motorcycle rider is in critical condition at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after a collision in the early hours of this morning.

Police reported a single-vehicle crash at about 12.40am on South Road, Devonshire, near Gables Lane.

Little is known of the collision, according to a police spokesman, but it appears that the man lost control of his vehicle.

Witnesses to the crash, or anyone with information, are asked to call the Roads Policing Unit at 295-0011.
