Women deny Front Street fight

Two women denied fighting on Front Street when they appeared in Magistrates' Court this morning.

Chanae Bascome, 24, of St George's, and Tiffany Trott, 27, of Warwick, pleaded not guilty to taking part in a fight, which allegedly took place on December 27.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo set bail at $1,000 each and the matter was adjourned to December 31.

• Also in Magistrates' Court this morning, a 42-year-old Devonshire man denied violently resisting arrest.

Malik Outerbridge also pleaded not guilty to assaulting an off-duty police officer and using threatening words.

All of the offences allegedly occurred on December 27 on Corkscrew Hill, Devonshire.

Prosecutor Susan Mulligan said that Mr Outerbridge told the police officer: “If I see you again I will kill you. You are lucky I don't know where you live.”

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo set bail at $3,000 and a trial date was set for April 14.
