Teenager stable after Roberts Avenue crash

A man remains in hospital after a crash just after 7pm yesterday, in which two motorists were injured.

Two motorcycles travelling in opposite directions collided on Roberts Avenue, Devonshire, near the junction with Friswell’s Road, according to Police.

A 47-year-old Devonshire man was treated and released, while a 19-year-old from Pembroke is in a stable condition on a general ward.

A car was “extensively” damaged earlier in the day, when a 38-year-old Pembroke man travelling east on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s struck an embankment.

The crash occurred at about 10am near the junction with Crest View Road. The driver of the car was not injured.

Police continue to look into the road traffic death of Timothy Wright, 62, and authorities have requested for any witnesses to the crash to contact Pc Colin Paynter at 247-1335.

Meanwhile, there were two arrests for suspected impaired driving over the New Year’s holiday and seven people were arrested for outstanding warrants.

Police thanked the public for their co-operation, as no significant instances of antisocial behaviour were reported.
