Gitanjali Gutiérrez will make her first public appearance as information commissioner next Monday during two open sessions in which she will move to explain the role of her office.

The Public Access to Information (PATI) Act 2010 comes into effect on April 1 and the Information Commissioner’s Office wants to educate the public about their rights while also filling in any blanks over the process.

Ms Gutiérrez, who was appointed to the $180,000-a-year position on March 1, will presides over meetings at the Pier Six passenger terminal from 4pm to 5pm and then from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
