Eye Institute Classic appears on the horizon

The East End will come alive next month as about 300 runners and walkers are expected to take part in arguably Bermuda’s most scenic five-kilometre road race through historic St George’s.

The family-friendly twelfth annual Eye Institute Classic Run and Walk will commence at the East End Primary School on April 5 and will take runners and walkers on a scenic route through the eastern end of the World Heritage site.

Families in particular are encouraged to participate. There is a shorter 2.7km race for children starting at 9am, with the longer for adult runners and walkers following 30 minutes later.

The Eye Institute Classic is a fitness-themed fundraising event that encourages participants to get fit for a good cause. The event brings together people of all ages and fitness levels who thrive on the opportunity to exercise for charity.

T-shirts and goody bags will be available for the first 200 participants. Registration and number pick-up will begin 90 minutes before the start of the event. Draw prizes include an airline travel voucher and two bicycles.

Register online at www.racedayworld.bm by 1pm on April 4.
