Top line-up for Cup Match Summer Splash

Barrington Levy

One of the world’s leading DJ-producers will headline the Cup Match Summer Splash 2015 to be spread over two separate nights.

Major Lazer will perform in Bermuda for the first time at the Cup Match Eve concert to take place on July 29 at a venue yet to be announced in the City of Hamilton.

Global sensation Major Lazer is made up of Diplo, the Grammy-nominated DJ and producer, and fellow DJ-producers Jillionaire, of Trinidad, and Walshy Fire, of Jamaica.

Before their arrival in Bermuda, Major Lazer will release their third album on June 1 to continue in the group’s tradition of combining the best elements of electronic dance music, dancehall, hip-hop, and pop into an earth-shaking, soul-liberating singularity.

Also performing at the concert will be DJ Skratch Bastid and Tarantula, from Poison Dart.

Soca king Machel Montano headlined last year’s Cup Match Eve concert, which was held in the car park Queen Elizabeth II Park.

Reggae greats Barrington Levy and Morgan Heritage will kick off Cup Match Summer Splash 2015. The pair will showcase their musical talents at the “One Love One Life” concert on July 25, also at a Hamilton venue to be announced.

Both artists are no strangers to Bermuda and will be accompanied by their bands. The last time the pair performed in Bermuda, they drew crowds in excess of 2,000 at Clearwater Beach and Snorkel Park. Last year Tarrus Riley and Luciano took centre stage at the “One Love One Life” concert. Master of ceremonies for both events is world celebrity Uzimon.
