Traffic near the new Acute Care Wing will be reduced to a single late tomorrow afternoon as workers install a new well pump.

According to a Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) spokeswoman, work is scheduled to begin tomorrow at 4pm and take between four and six hours to complete.

“During that time vehicular traffic will run in a two-way system on the hospital campus to the main entrance,” the spokeswoman said. “The area will be manned by security personnel and marked with traffic cones. Please use caution when entering and exiting the site and obey the traffic marshals.

“Pedestrian traffic from the wing’s main parking lot will have to enter the building via the sidewalk on Point Finger Road and stairs from there to the Emergency Department entrance. Security personnel will be on hand to help guide [the public].”

The pump will replace the existing well pump, which has serviced the hospital’s general wing for the last ten years.
