City to go green for annual Park(ing) Day

Sections of Reid and Court Streets will get a little greener next month as the Island takes part in Park(ing) Day for the third time.

As part of the international event, several parking spaces on lower Reid Street and Court Street will be adapted into miniature, temporary parks on September 18.

This year's effort is being co-ordinated by the Corporation of Hamilton and the Department of Planning, which said that the project was intended to promote creativity, civic engagement and social interaction.

Those interested in taking part in the event are invited to contact senior planning officer Julie Marshall at 294-9033 or jamarshall@gov.bm.
