Labour: Dunkley praises ‘sweat and skill’

Michael Dunkley has thanked workers for their “commitment to a better Bermuda” in a Labour Day message.

“Labour Day is an important holiday for Bermuda, reminding all of us that our progress continues to depend on the sweat and skill of organised working men and women everywhere,” the Premier said in a statement this afternoon.

“As Bermuda Government public officers, you are part of a labour force that possesses an amazing range of expertise and manpower which contributes greatly to the functioning of the Island and helping to move us forward.

“In my time as a Government minister and as Premier, I have been impressed by the professionalism and pride that I have seen in meeting rooms and at job sites across the Island.

“Bermuda continues to face serious challenges; however I am confident we will overcome them and move from strength to strength, working together for the good of our Island home. Thank you for your commitment to a better Bermuda.

“Have a safe and relaxing Labour Day weekend.”
