Firefighters tackle garage blaze
Firefighters have tackled a blaze at a garage in Southampton.
Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the fire on Camp Road, Southampton, at 10pm.
“We responded to a fire at a two-storey residence where there were visible flames seen from the rear of the building from a garage on arrival,” said a fire service spokeswoman, Sergeant Russann Francis. “It took four firefighters fully dressed in breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze.
“The garage was fully involved with fire and sustained extensive heat and smoke damage throughout. The upper level of the residence received minor smoke damage with the loss of windows.
“We responded to the incident with two appliances and ten personnel.”
There were no major injuries as a result of the blaze, the cause of which is being investigated.
