Recycle your old electronics on Saturday

The Waste Management Section of the Ministry of Public Works will be holding its third e-Waste Recycling Day for the year this Saturday.

Residents are encouraged to bring their old, worn out electronics to be recycled from 9am to 5pm at the Tynes Bay Waste to Energy Facility on Palmetto Road, Devonshire.

Everything from battery operated toys and hair dryers to computers and other circuit board containing equipment will be accepted: any small appliance powered by batteries or power cord.

All recyclable materials, including electronics, are sent to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved recycling facilities to ensure they are handled with maximal concern for the environment and worker safety.

For commercial loads, e-mail recycle@gov.bm or telephone Colleen Clacken at 501-3023.
