Two-vehicle collision in Hamilton

A woman was taken to hospital this morning after a two-vehicle collision in Hamilton.

According to a police spokeswoman, an auxiliary cycle and a police car collided at the junction of Church Street and Court Street at about 6am.

“It appears that the police vehicle was travelling east along Church Street and the cycle was headed north on Court Street when the collision occurred. As a result of injuries received, the female cyclist was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released.”

As a result of the collision, officers temporarily closed off Court Street from Reid Street and Victoria Street, and Church Street was shut between Parliament Street and King Street

Police are appealing for witnesses to call 295-0011.
