A 19-year-old female driver is in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after she crashed her car into a wall on St John’s Road, Pembroke earlier this afternoon.

It’s understood she suffered head injuries.

According to police, the crash occurred at 12.15pm, 200 metres from the junction with North Shore Road.

The teenage motorist lost control of her vehicle and struck the wall on the opposite side of the road.

Police cordoned off the road to investigate, and have asked for any witnesses to the incident to contact them at 295-0011.
