Police surround home after armed robbery

Armed police officers surround a house in the Deep Dale area of Pembroke

Armed police surrounded a house in Deep Dale looking for suspicious males following this afternoon’s armed robbery.

The Bermuda Police Service headed to two residences at 1 Way and 2 Way Deep Dale in Pembroke, just off Parsons Road and next to the Evening Light Pentecostal Church, after receiving information.

Two houses were searched, although no one was detained. The Community Action Team will be speak with residents in the area over the next few days.

The robbery took place at T&L’s Budget Warehouse on St John’s Road at 1.50pm.

According to police media relations officer Dwayne Caine, two men entered the property brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and made demands for money.

Staff gave an undisclosed sum of money to the men, who then made good their escape on a black motorcycle, heading towards North Shore Road.

Both are described as dark brown-complexioned males, one wearing all black and the other a black top and grey pants. One appears to be between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in and of stocky build, the second a thin-framed male between 5ft 10in and 6ft.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and share any information by calling 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
