Woman sustained ‘minor’ injuries in crash

A 26-year-old woman who crashed into a tree in Devonshire on Sunday was treated for minor injuries, police have confirmed.

According to a spokesman, first responders were sent to the single-vehicle accident on South Road, near the junction with Devon Spring Road, at about 12.50pm.

He added that the accident was initially thought to have happened in the nearby Devonshire Bay Road.

“It now appears that a car being driven along South Road collided with a tree, resulting in the female driver being hurt,” the spokesman said.

“The injured 26-year-old Smith’s parish woman was actually taken to hospital by a member of the public for treatment.

“Her injuries were later confirmed to be relatively minor.”

Traffic was temporarily diverted away from the area until the damaged car was towed from the scene.

Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses should contact police on 295-0011.
