Brown scholarship awarded to former BI Head Girl

Former Head Girl at the Berkeley Institute and a graduate of Dalhousie University, Chioma Nwasike, has been awarded the 2016 Brown Family Scholarship.

At a presentation on Thursday at the Brown-Darrell Clinic, Ms Nwasike was officially presented with scholarship and received $5,000 towards her studies at Howard University.

Former Premier Ewart Brown, his sister Emelita Johnson and his niece Dr Kim Robinson attended the presentation, with Dr Brown noting the scholarship was intended for Bermudian Undergraduate or Post Graduate students pursuing studies in Health Sciences, Dentistry, Nursing and Medicine at Howard University, Dr Brown’s alma mater.

Ms Nwasike holds a Degree in Biology and will be attending the university’s School of Medicine in the fall.
