Team Bermuda debaters have travelled to Stuttgart for the World Schools Debate Championships, which begin tomorrow.

The team are Megan Sutcliffe, the captain who attends Bermuda High School, Bathsheba Jones, of CedarBridge Academy, and Asha Symons, of Warwick Academy.

Bermuda High School student Namrata Bisht was also meant to compete but has not been able to travel with the team because of visa constraints. Bermuda face the Netherlands in the first round, debating the motion “This House believes that, after meeting their basic needs, individuals have a moral responsibility to donate their wealth towards poverty”.

They face Montenegro in the second round, in an impromptu motion, which will be announced one hour before.
