City of Hamilton to host ‘Back2School’ event
The City of Hamilton will celebrate the start of the school term by hosting a free public event on City Hall grounds on Saturday.
There will be up to $1,500 of prize giveaways including school supplies, shoes and backpacks, along with food vendors and musical entertainment, according to a statement.
“To sweeten the day even more, the City will give away prizes of free lemonade from the ever-popular Ashley's Lemonade stand.
“A digital entertainment area will be set up for gamers of all ages and a fun castle and kids' zone makes for a great family day out in the City.”
The event, which will also feature musicians, Gombeys and DJ Siid James, will take place in front of City Hall from 2pm to 7pm, with Sunday set down as the rain date.
“The City also encourages the public to attend a Gospel Celebration that same evening on Dundonald Street at Place's parking lot from 7pm, also sponsored by the City of Hamilton and produced by Gina Spence Productions and Bermuda Economic Development Corporation,” the statement concluded.
