Stolen motorcycle found in bushes

Still missing: the child-sized 65cc motorbike that was stolen from a container at the Bermuda Motorsports Park in St David's

One of two motorcycles stolen when thieves raided a container at the Bermuda Motorsports Park in St David’s has been found.

The Yamaha 250cc motocross bike was discovered by a member of the public hidden in bushes in St George’s.

But the search for a child-sized Cobra 65cc machine — with pink, purple, and black graphics — continues.

A police spokesman said officers had retrieved the bigger bike which has been kept for forensic examination.

President of the Bermuda Association of Motorsports, Antoine Richards, had expressed his disappointment after the bikes went missing.

“Several of our members’ containers had locks removed and the contents disturbed,” he said. “We were very upset to find that two off-road motocross bikes were removed from the facility.”

Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club president Takara Dill added that while none of their BMRC bikes were taken, their containers were also damaged.

The club, BAM and police have all appealed for witnesses to theft and anyone who has any other information regarding the crime is urged to contact the police on 295-0011 with all relevant information.
