Green Family makes donation for Deliverance
The Green Family has donated $4,000 to the St George's Foundation to help restore the iconic replica of the Deliverance.
According to a statement released today, the donation will be matched by the Bank of Bermuda Foundation.
The replica ship on Ordnance Island was damaged in 2014 by the impact of Hurricanes Fay and Gonzalo. Repairs on the attraction have already begun, but the St George's Foundation said last week that further donations were needed.
Alexander Green, on behalf of the Green Family, said: “We are pleased to be able to contribute to the restoration of a Bermuda national treasure. Reading about the hard work of the St George's Foundation in The Royal Gazette on Wednesday, we were inspired to help. Efforts such as these will not only help restore the Deliverance but provide a boost to the town of St George.”
