TS Nicole heading our way

Tropical Storm Nicole is heading north towards Bermuda and is being described as a potential threat to the island.

In the Bermuda Weather Service 12am report, Nicole was 380nm south of Bermuda, packing winds of 60 knots with gusts of 75 knots.

It’s anticipated the storm’s closest approach to the island will be about 8am on Friday, some 271nm to the south.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Matthew, having already devastated Haiti, has hit Turks and Caicos and is now barrelling its way the Bahamas.

The weather forecast predicts that the Category 4 storm will make landfall in Florida and North Carolina later in the week.
