A man has been arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after a crashed van ended up submerged in the water near Mangrove Bay.

The vehicle could be seen this morning near the old Salt Rock Grill in Sandys.

Details on the incident are limited, according to a police spokesman, but it is believed that the van was being driven to Somerset Village when it struck a wall and ended up in the sea.

The driver, a 41-year-old Warwick man, was arrested, and inquiries continue. Witnesses are asked to contact police at 295-0011.
