Fire Service observes Safety Awareness Week

Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service will be observing Fire Safety Awareness Week from November 7-11 — hoping local residents will follow their safety advice.

This year's theme is “Don't Wait, Check the Date: Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years.”

BF&RS will be promoting the fire safety message throughout the community next week, but its annual children's Fire Safety Show and student essay/poster contest has been cancelled.

A spokesperson said: “Next week, residents are encouraged to tune in to local media and follow the BF&RS's social media platforms to learn more about important fire safety tips.”

Members of the public who wish additional fire safety information are encouraged to contact BF&RS Headquarters at 292-5555 ext. 132.
