A planned strike by British Airways cabin crews, which could have had an impact on local travellers heading to the UK on Christmas and Boxing Day, has been called off.

Yesterday’s news in the British media followed Wednesday’s announcement that baggage handlers in the UK had also agreed not to down tools at airports across the UK.

Reuters reported that the trade union Unite had come to the decision, made after getting a new offer from British Airways. The deal is to go before union members for approval.
