The forecast of bad weather has caused organisers to postpone tomorrow’s Children’s Nature Walk.

It has now been rescheduled for March 30.

“The weather forecast for tomorrow morning states that we will be having gale force winds with gusts up to 50 knots,” said the National Trust, who organise the event.

“It will be too windy to hear the experts, the bird experts will get salt spray all over their binoculars and we will have slippery pathways which will cause danger to all participants. Overall we think that you will not have an exciting and nice experience.

“I am so sorry as we have 177 people registered and we usually get a few drop-ins too.

“I hope you all will be able to join us on March 30 when we predict a larger number of migratory birds at the pond and the Longtails will have returned to the island.”
