Pembroke motorcyclist fined $800

A 32-year-old Pembroke man has pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breath sample following a traffic stop in Warwick last month.

It stems from an incident along Harbour Road shortly before 2am on March 12.

Magistrates’ Court heard that police pulled over Maurico Bradshaw after noticing an expired sticker on his motorcycle. Officers said his breath smelled strongly of alcohol.

Mr Bradshaw told police that he had been drinking, but was not intoxicated.

When later asked to provide breath samples for analysis he replied “no thanks,” court heard.

He was fined $800 and was disqualified from driving for 12 months by magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo.
