Man admits burglary

A 27-year-old man has pleaded guilty in connection with a burglary in Warwick that occurred earlier this month.

Sean Evans, of no fixed address, admitted burglary and resisting arrest following an incident on Spice Hill Road on April 3.

Police were called to the residence for a report of a burglary in progress at around 2pm.

Upon arrival, officers saw Evans exiting the premises from a window, Magistrates’ Court heard.

A struggle ensued with police during which Evans was “uncooperative”, and displayed “aggressive behaviour”.

He was tasered by police on the leg during the arrest.

Cash totaling $500, a Michael Kors watch valued at $260, a security camera, and candy bars were all taken from the residence. Evans had “convictions of a similar nature,” court heard.

A Social Inquiry Report has been ordered, and Evans ordered to attend drug treatment court on April 11.
