St George’s Rotary Club hosts youth night

Students from two schools came together as part of the St George’s Rotary Club’s annual Youth Night.

A total of 19 Clearwater and Whitney students attended the event, intended to teach them about Rotary youth programmes, youth leadership awards and other aspects of the island’s Rotary Clubs.

They were joined by three members of the Interact Club of Bermuda, who spoke to the students about the club, its achievements and its goals.

Andrew Roberts, president of the St George’s Rotary Club, said the event was a success, highlighting several opportunities offered to young Bermudians.

“The St George’s Rotary Club picks up the tab for all of the students and guest speakers, everyone enjoys a great selection of food from the buffet at Grotto Bay Hotel and we end the meeting with raffles for the students and of course one for the adults,” he said.

“As a club we enjoy interacting with youth, getting them involved in Rotary activities and providing them leadership skills for their future. If we start young with the children, maybe one day they will make fine Rotarians.”
