A 68-year-old man has lost his life after a crash on Middle Road in Warwick, near the junction with Burnt House Hill — the island's second road fatality in less than 24 hours.

According to police, a private car and a rental cycle are believed to have been involved in the accident at about 10am.

The man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, and subsequently pronounced dead.

“No further information regarding the deceased will be provided at this time until his next kin has been notified,” a spokesman said at noon.

Traffic diversions are no longer in effect in the area, and traffic flow in the area is returning to normal, with the Bermuda Police Service thanking the public for their patience and co-operation as the scene was being processed.

Witnesses are asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788 or the main police telephone number 295-0011.
