Gala will celebrate Race for Water
A Race for Water gala will take place at the Caroline Bay Bermuda Property at the start of next month.
The event will celebrate the efforts of the 115ft vessel, Race for Water , a 100 per cent energy efficient vessel powered by sun and hydrogen harvested from the ocean.
Bermuda is one of its many stops as it makes its way around the world with a mission of combating ocean pollution, according to a press release.
The research conducted while on her journey will be used to attempt to eliminate plastic waste in the world's oceans.
On Thursday, June 1, guests will have the opportunity to tour the vessel between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, immediately followed by a cocktail hour.
The Race for Water gala will begin at 7.30pm and will honour environmentalist Stuart Hayward and help celebrate the completion of the first leg as Race for Water begins its five-year ocean odyssey.
