Deadline for boat licences

Local boaters have less than two weeks to renew their licences.

The deadline is midnight, May 31, or 4.30pm for those who want to pay in person.

“2018 decals must be in place by June 1 on all moorings and boats,” said a Departmentent of Marine and Ports statement. “Mooring licences that are not renewed as of May 31st will incur a late fee.

“Renewal notices are no longer being sent out. Owners can now access their information online at www.marineandports.bm. A list of current licensing fees is also available for viewing on the website.

“Boat and mooring owners are further advised to make sure they have a correct address on file with the Department. Transfers of boats or moorings must be done in person with photo ID at the department. Those who need to update their address can call the Department on 294-0419 or e-mail: boatsandmoorings@gov.bm to update their details.”

Payment can be made in three ways:

• Payment in person — methods are cash, cheque or card

• Payment online through www.marineandports.bm. Detailed instructions are on the website.

• Cheque in the mail

Members of the public wanting to pay in person are advised that the Boats and Moorings Section has relocated to 108 Middle Road, Paget (Old Paget Post Office). Opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.
