Bean denies OBA alliance

Marc Bean has taken to social media to address rumours about a possible partnership with the One Bermuda Alliance.

In a video posted to Facebook yesterday afternoon, the former Leader of the Progressive Labour Party said suggestions that he had joined with the OBA, “for money or otherwise”, were “absolutely false”.

“I, Marc Bean, will never, ever work for those people,” he said.

No amount of money, he said, would compel him to “serve their interests”.

Going forward, Mr Bean said he wanted to ensure that the PLP was a Government “that has clean hands and pure hearts”.

Two things, he said, needed to occur in the coming weeks. “We need to prepare to vote the One Bermuda Alliance out, but at the same time we have to ensure that we clean house, so that our people get the Government we richly deserve,” he said. “And that’s one that will uplift us, and not destroy us.”

Mr Bean resigned as Leader of the Opposition and MP for Warwick South Central in November.

Mr Bean began the 1:10-long video by offering condolences to the family and friends of Shawn Crockwell.
