Grandfather identified as fatal crash victim

American Brian Anderson, 63, has been identified as the man killed in a motorcycle crash in Devonshire on Monday afternoon.

Mr Anderson was driving a rental scooter along South Road when it collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction near Brimstone Hill at around 5pm.

His 11-year-old granddaughter was on the back of the scooter at the time, police said.

According to police, CPR was performed on Mr Anderson at the scene before he was rushed to hospital. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

His granddaughter received treatment in hospital for her injuries but was later discharged, police said.

The occupants of the car were uninjured.

Mr Anderson’s wife was riding on a second scooter behind her husband and granddaughter at the time of the crash. She was not injured.

“A family liaison officer has been assigned to support Mr Anderson’s loved ones at this difficult time,” police said in a press release yesterday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators on 247-1788.
