Rotary school backpack donation

Pembroke Rotary Club donated 60 bags to the Foster Care Section of the Department of Family Services (Photograph supplied)

Dozens of backpacks filled with school supplies have been donated to students ahead of the start of the school year.

The Pembroke Rotary Club donated 60 bags to the Foster Care Section of the Department of Family Services.

Jason Taylor, president of the PRC, made the presentation to Selena Simons, with the DCFS, this morning.

Ms Simons said that the bags would ease the process of getting students ready to return to the classroom.

The backpacks contain school supplies including binders, notebooks and writing utensils, and well as dental care items, and more.

The PRC thanked Butterfield and Vallis, AF Smith, the Phoenix Stores and BGA for helping to put the backpacks together.
