St George’s Parish Council has awarded scholarships to five students.

Ashley Phipps, Anthony Howell, Tanessha Ottley, Shaundrea Washington and Sita Ingram all received $3,000 towards their education expenses.

The Scholarship Committee stated: “The Committee was very impressed with the students during the interview and their willingness to volunteer their services to the Council once they complete their studies.

“The entire council would like to extend congratulations to the 2017 recipients and wish them much success.”

Ms Phipps is studying a bachelor of arts in child and youth study from Mount Saint Vincent University. She is in her final year and is due to graduate next year.

Mr Howell is pursuing a dual masters of art and masters of science in international and world history through Columbia University and the London School of Economics.

Ms Ottley is entering her second year at the University of Lincoln and studying a bachelor of arts in social policy.

Ms Washington is studying a bachelor of science in veterinary nursing and practice management at Harper Adams University.

And Ms Ingram is pursing a masters of business administration with a major in healthcare management from Magna Carta College, London Metropolitan University.
