Toys for Tots campaign under way

Coldwell Banker staff prepare the Toys for Tots donations for delivery in 2012

The annual Toys for Tots campaign run by a real estate firm is under way yesterday — with a new twist.

The campaign, now in its fifteenth year, has expanded beyond toys to necessities like diapers, toiletries and school uniform gift certificates.

Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty has teamed up with the Coalition for the Protection of Children to deliver new toys to children in need, as well as all-year round gifts.

A spokeswoman for Coldwell Banker said: “Monetary donations are welcomed as well, which will go towards the Coalition’s breakfast programme as well as the educational services they provide throughout the year.

“The Toys for Tots cause is not just about giving and getting, but more about the happiness we want everyone to share in at this time of year.

“It teaches us and our children the ability to be a bit selfless, to appreciate what we have, and to experience a growth in our character that comes from recognising and helping those in need.

“Many of us take for granted the simple joy we experience at this time of year while giving and receiving.

“Toys for Tots strives to ensure that all of our children get to feel that same joy, both at Christmas time, and all year round.”

Toys can be dropped off at Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty’s offices on Par-la-Ville Road, Hamilton.

Gifts can also be bought and left at drop-off locations at Annex Toys, Kit N Caboodle, Price Rite, Gorhams, Arnolds Discount Warehouse, Little People’s Toys, or Willow Stream Spa.

The organisers thanked Best Shipping and Joe Vieira Trucking for the provision of drop-off boxes and delivery of gifts the Coalition offices.
